Peter’s dream and the call of Cornelius, Acts 10:1-48
The command was repeated two more times, along with the voice saying, "What God hath made clean, that call not thou common" verse 15 and then the vessel was taken back to heaven verse At this point in the narrative, messengers sent from Cornelius the Centurion arrive and urge Peter to go with them. He does so, and mentions the vision as he speaks to Cornelius, saying "God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean" Acts Peter related the vision again in Acts Simon J. Kistemaker suggests that the lesson God taught Peter in this vision is that "God has removed the barriers he once erected to separate his people from the surrounding nations. The disciples, who were raised in false ways of Judaism, had to renew their minds just as we who have been raised in the false ways of Christianity have to renew our minds. It was while these three Gentile men , which Cornelius had sent, were coming to Peter that he too had a vision. Three times a cloth came from heaven with all kinds of creatures in it. In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.

He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds.
