Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 launched not long ago, and thousands of players are already downloading the update. Players are excited as the game will add the fan-favorite Kar98K and a new SMG. Besides these additions, the COD Warzone Season 4 update buffed an underwhelming SMG.

COD Warzone Season 4 Update Buffs the FJX Horus

COD: Warzone Season 4 brings tons of content to the game. Besides the new weapons and notorious adjustments, the game’s developers tweaked many game modes and updated Warzone‘s ground loot, giving players up-to-date weapons to fight with their enemies. One of the most noticeable changes was a buff to FJX Horus, an underwhelming SMG that many players have ignored since it was added.

Top 10 Maps We Want to Return in CoD MW3 https://www.gameskinny.com/culture/top-10-maps-we-want-to-return-in-cod-mw3/ Wed, 27 Dec 2023 19:00:00 +0000 https://www.gameskinny.com/?p=138049

With Modern Warfare 3 reprising some of the best Call of Duty maps, here are the ones we definitely like to see return.

Almost all of the maps that were released in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 are legendary in their own right because they came from Modern Warfare 2 (2009). However, there’s a laundry list of maps from Modern Warfare‘s past that we’d love to see return.

10 Maps We’d Love to See in Modern Warfare 3

Between their release selection and their DLC, there are dozens of other maps from previous Modern Warfare titles that could be fantastic in MW3. You’ll see that almost all the maps I went with come from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, as the choices there are by far the best, but there are a few from MW2 (2009) and MW3 (2011) sprinkled in there as well. Many of the classic maps have made it into the Modern Warfare reboots in one way or another, so I’ve picked those that either haven’t been around in a while or have been waiting for a long time.

There will undoubtedly be at least a dozen or so new weapons coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 across its seasonal content. Here’s the thing, though: there are so many other awesome weapons from past CoD games we really want to return in MW3.

The 10 Past Call of Duty Weapons We Want Back in Modern Warfare 3

Narrowing this field down to 10 was incredibly difficult because there have been some stellar entries in the franchise’s two decades of history. However, the weapons I’ve chosen below mark some of the best and most powerful choices the series has ever seen but have yet to make their way to MW3. I didn’t limit myself to only Modern Warfare titles, though future games like Black Ops 3, 4, and Advanced Warfare were obviously out of the running.

After spending a considerable amount of time with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer beta, we were worried the full release would fall short. While it certainly doesn’t hit the same way Modern Warfare did in 2019, Cold War is an excellent addition in the series, due in part to the sheer amount of content it offers and little embellishments that make it stand out.

Cold War is broken up into three sections (soon to be four when it gets integrated into Warzone in December). It comes with a single-player Campaign, multiplayer, and the beloved Zombies mode fans have grown fond of over the years. Right off the bat, Cold War has a tremendous amount of content for you to enjoy, and it’s only going to become bigger, thanks to the promise of future updates.

Amidst an array of uncertain rumors and weeks of anticipation, it has finally been confirmed by Activision that Call of Duty’s entry for 2018 will be Black Ops 4. The game will be released for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 12th.

While Call of Duty traditionally blesses us with releases in November, this will be the first time in a decade that a game is released earlier in the fall, standing mysteriously neck to neck with the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 later in October.

2007 vs 2017: A Decade in the Making https://www.gameskinny.com/culture/2007-vs-2017-a-decade-in-the-making/ https://www.gameskinny.com/culture/2007-vs-2017-a-decade-in-the-making/#respond Sat, 30 Dec 2017 16:03:17 +0000 People are calling 2017 the best year in games since 2007. How much has changed since that year? Will 2017's games have the same kind of lasting impact?

The post 2007 vs 2017: A Decade in the Making appeared first on GameSkinny.

Around a decade ago, I watched a video on GameTrailers called the Top 10 Years of Gaming, and the #1 was 2007. Considering that this video was made and uploaded at the tail end of 2007, it almost seemed presumptuous to call a year that was just on its way out the “Best Year in Gaming.” Now here we are, 10 years later, and people are already declaring 2017 to be another “Best Year in Gaming.” And you know what, both are right.

2007 and 2017 are two great years in the history of video games. 2007 gave us Assassin’s Creed, Mass Effect, Portal, Modern Warfare, BioShock, and Super Mario Galaxy. 2017 gave us Cuphead, NierAutomata, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Breath of the Wild, Persona 5, and Super Mario Odyssey. And those are just all I can name off the top of my head. The sheer volume of quality games that came out in both years is amazing.

From past to present and into the future, the Call Of Duty franchise has covered a ton of ground — and could even cover much more if the sadly cancelled Roman Wars is any indication.

Whether you’re streaming an eSports tournament on Twitch, watching on television, or attending in person, you know that there is a lot of work that goes into putting on these huge events. All eSports fans know that the main attraction is always the players, but its easy to forget just how much manpower it takes to put together any tournament.

From start to finish, there are people at every eSports event working long before the start of the event and behind the scenes on the day to make sure that everything runs as seamlessly as possible for the audience. To honor these people, here’s a list (in no particular order) of heroes in eSports who may not be behind the screens, but are just as important in making an event happen.

The Call of Duty series is on a decline. Sales have been down and new releases have become stagnant. Its very own fan base has started moving on to other shooters like Overwatch, Battlefield 1, and a few to Titanfall 2, while newcomers ignore future releases. Activision seems to know this, but instead of revitalizing the franchise, it seems to be wringing the cash cow dry until there is nothing left. All is not lost, since Call of Duty is a monumental franchise it can afford to take risks smaller titles wouldn’t dare doing. This is how Call of Duty can once again be the king of first person shooters.
