Figuring out how to play Fortnite on iPhone isn’t exactly an easy task in 2023. That’s because the popular Battle Royale game was removed from iOS and the App Store in 2022 for legal reasons. Though Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney tweeted in late 2022 that the game would return “next year on iOS,” it has yet to return to the Apple Store as of February 28, 2023. However, this doesn’t have to stop you from getting your Fortnite fix on iOS.
How to Play Fortnite on iPhone via Xbox Cloud Gaming
To play Fortnite on iOS via Xbox Cloud Gaming, simply head to the Cloud Gaming homepage here. If you already have a Microsoft account, go ahead and log in. If not, you’ll want to make one. Note that you only need to have a Microsoft account to play Fortnite. Gamepass Ultimate is not required.

After logging into your Xbox Cloud Gaming, select Fortnite from the list of games and play. You’ll have to use the controller scheme on the screen instead of the mobile controls, but if that isn’t to your liking, you can potentially use a controller compatible with mobile devices, such as the Rotor Riot Controller. It’s also possible to connect a PlayStation or Xbox controller via Bluetooth.
How to Play Fortnite on iOS via GeForce Now
If you’d rather use GeForce Now, the setup is still somewhat similar. Head over to play.geforcenow.com, and log in if you have an account. If not, you can make one. Once again, you don’t need to pay for an account to play Fortnite for free.
However, the main issue with using GeForce Now is that cloud gaming sessions are broken into 1-hour chunks. If that doesn’t bother you, play away because there isn’t a limit to how many 1-hour chunks you use. Just be sure that the controller you’re trying to use is compatible with whichever service you’re using.
The best part of being able to play Fortnite on iPhone through cloud services is that the game will always be up to date. So as long as you have a great internet connection, you can enjoy Fortnite with your friends and peers right on your iOS device.
