Though Tekken 8 has only been out a few months, the developers have been hard at work to make sure its offerings for the next few months are worthwhile. Now, a brand new trailer for Tekken 8 Season 1 has hit and offers up some fantastic updates for your next battles. From a new DLC character to new modes and patches, here’s what you can expect.
Tekken 8 Spring Updates
Battle Adjustments
Perhaps the most anticipated addition in the new trailer was the confirmation of battle adjustments for individual characters. Up until this point, there have been no official updates that addressed its characters, which led to many unbalanced battles and characters like Azucena and Asuka being too strong or too weak. This change will be a part of the Spring update, and Tekken 8 Patch 1.04 will be on May 8 at 3:30-9:00 CEST, while Patch 1.05, which will address any changes not made in the May patch, will be in June.
Tekken 8 Summer Updates
Lidia Sobieska
The next DLC character announced was a surprising but welcomed addition with Lidia Sobieska. Originally, Lidia debuted back in Tekken 7, and her status as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and a Karate master made her a huge draw. Though it seemed like she was a one-hit wonder, Lidia will be back and will be a fun shakeup for those who want something new or prefer playing styles similar to Jin.
Seaside Resort Stage
Tekken has always had some type of Summer-themed stage, whether it be a beach or even a mall. Surprisingly, Tekken 8’s only beach stage was found in the Tekken Ball mini-game or in the Fight Lounge. Well, that’s finally been changed, and you can expect a fun beachside stage to enjoy, complete with a beautiful view of the ocean and cheering spectators.
Photo Mode
Next-gen gaming’s greatest achievement was the chance to capture, edit and share photographs of in-game moments. Whether you’re playing a single-player game or enjoying a fighting game like Street Fighter 6, photo mode is always a welcome addition. Now, for a game like Tekken 8, where the best moments are often so fast you’ll miss them, photo mode will immortalize some of your most iconic victories.
Tekken 8 Autumn Updates
Main Story DLC
As promised, Tekken 8 will feature free DLC for you to enjoy and the first entry comes this Autumn. Initially, it was believed that each DLC character would have their own DLC story. However, with Eddy’s DLC coming months after his debut, it’s hard to say if it will be an Eddy DLC only or also include the other fighters that have been and will be announced.
Other Future Updates
You can expect even more exciting and smaller updates to come throughout the year as well. Though no release date has been set, this includes ghost vs. ghost battles. With these, you can now set your ghost to battle another ghost, whether it be your friend or an opponent you encountered online. But based on your skill, it could lead to some exciting exhibitions. There’s also the much-anticipated online practice, which will finally allow you and your friends to practice in an online space rather than work together in timed battles.
