We’ve been speculating for a while now on who the mystery Lucky Villager could be in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and they may have given us the biggest clue yet with their new teases featuring black and white filters. Here’s all the details.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: New Villager Revealed?
We’re getting a new Eternity Isle villager for A Rift in Time DLC, but the identity of this villager has remained a big mystery. The main clue we’ve had to go on is that it’s a “lucky villager.” This led to many theories of every possible character that could work. However, the Disney Dreamlight Valley team on Twitter just gave us the biggest clues yet by changing their profile picture to a black-and-white filter, along with changing the in-game dialogue box to black-and-white as well.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit has been one of the biggest theories on who this lucky villager could be. The black-and-white filter works perfectly with his overall aesthetic, being a classic black-and-white character from the original Mickey Mouse universe. He also happens to have the word ‘lucky’ right in his name.
Conveniently, the character Oswald’s rights expired in January of this year, meaning he is now in the public domain and free to use in any other titles and experiences. Although he’s a unique character, he certainly fits in with the theme of rifts in time, setting the clock back to a time when there weren’t even colored TV shows. He’ll most likely look very similar to the other Mickey Mouse characters we have in the Valley already, but of course, with his bleak, colorless style.
There’s yet to be an official announcement, but if this isn’t proof of his coming, I don’t know what is. We’ll seen find out what exactly he can offer the world of Eternity Isle when the character releases.
