Between your character’s independent level and your global Union level shared by all characters, level progression should be your priority on a day-to-day basis. It’s the best way to improve characters mechanically and unlock new game features. Here’s how to level up fast in Wuthering Waves.

First off, note that you can only level up characters past a certain point governed by your Union SOL3 level, so Union Levels and XP are also important. Secondly, each character has an Ascension level threshold at Level 20, 40, etc., where you need to ascend them with materials you can buy early from Uncle Wei in Jinzhou. Finally, here’s everything you can do to level up fast in Wuthering Waves:
- Do You Dailies: Open Activities as in the picture above and do all your daily tasks as well as those in the Daily Quest Menu. These will get you Union level XP and character XP consumables to level up characters.
- Complete the Main, Side, and Exploration Quests: Just by playing the game’s story, you’ll passively accumulate XP consumables to boost your characters. Chests and the Podcast (Battle Pass) are also great sources of XP. You’ll even get Ascension materials.
- Defeat World Bosses: After unlocking World Bosses, check what Ascension material your character needs at Level 40 to level further and find and defeat the World Boss that drops that item and XP. Boss rewards require Waveplates, which accumulate passively each day.
- Buy XP Potions in the Exchange: Go to the Convene menu and select the shop button in the lower left. Go to the Item Exchange, and you’ll notice that you can buy XP potions for Oscillate Corals. You get this resource by wishing for items and characters.
- Souvenir Store and Relic Merchant: You can visit these shopkeepers in town to get XP consumables using their respective resources.
- Tower of Adversity/Depths of Illusive Realm: You’ll unlock these game modes as you progress, which are repeatable for XP.
