It’s not easy to be a Victim in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Victims not only need to survive the assault of the Family but also find the quickest way out of the area. Fortunately, each has a unique Victim ability and a whole set of perks that can help you and the rest of the Victims escape. Our guide will provide you with a tier list of all Victims ranked in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, including all their abilities and the most useful perks.
All Victims Ranked Tier List in Texas Chainsaw Massacre
S-Tier Victims
Ana Flores
In many ways, Ana is the main character of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Her Pain is Nothing ability reduces damage from attacks and falls, making her one of the only Victims who can withstand an overhead swing from Leatherface. She’s a tank in the truest sense, and two of her best perks play into her strengths:
- Empowered: At Level 3, surviving a close encounter grants 50 health points and 90% of max stamina.
- Choose Fight: Sneak attacks and close encounters stun Family members for longer.
Ana lacks Proficiency and Stealth, so choosing perks that increase those attributes isn’t the worst idea. However, Ana functions best as a fighter, and with Empowered equipped, she’s nearly unstoppable. Jumping through windows and distracting family members is how she primarily helps the team.
Connie Taylor
Connie’s Focus ability lets you almost instantly unlock any exit door, which leads to fast wins. While her Proficiency shines, Connie’s lower Strength and Toughness stats make her pretty squishy. Unless you decide to invest in attributes and perks that negate her weaknesses, stealth gameplay is the better choice. Two of her best perks work with her lockpicking expertise and lower HP.
- Efficient Locksmith: At Level 3, there is a 40% chance the unlock tool won’t be consumed after picking a door.
- Extra Drop: After using a health item, you receive 6 HP for 12 seconds at Level 3.
Both perks excel at carrying Connie to victory. Efficient Locksmith can be handy for rushing exits, and Extra Drip quickly replenishes any damage you might receive while ensuring there are plenty of health bottles available for other Victims.
Danny Gaines
Danny’s Study and Tamper ability isn’t to be trifled with. Once he tampers exit objectives, like the Fuse Box or Valve, they stay open for much longer and increase the likelihood of Victims escaping. Unlocking Instant Study on the Skill Tree only makes tampering that much easier. What Danny lacks in Strength, he compensates for with Proficiency and Toughness. One of Danny’s best perks plays into his lockpicking prowess.
- Fast Hands: Family members in a 10-meter radius make the lockpicking minigame easier.
While Fast Hands is a staple among Danny mains, he has a lot of perks no other Victims have, including Hare Or Meat, I Can Do This, Quick Exit, Get It Off Me, and I Know Engines, to name a few.
A-Tier Victims
Leland McKinney
If you want to be good at playing Leland, then you need to be really aggressive and attack family members whenever you get the chance. This kind of strategy is dictated by his Life Saver ability, which knocks Family members to the ground and stuns Leatherface. Much like Ana, Leland is a Victim meant to distract while other Victims work on opening exits. To make the most out of Leland’s strengths, consider the following perks:
- Agitator: At Level 3, incapacitating Grandpa reduces the Family bond by 2.5 levels.
- Grappler: Each button tap during a close encounter is worth more.
With Grappler, Leland can more quickly jump from fight to fight. Chip damage from attacking Family members becomes less of a concern, but if you’re worried, consider using Empowered instead.
Virginia
With near-equal Toughness, Endurance, and Proficiency, Virginia is one of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre‘s more well-rounded characters. However, it’s her Boon ability that truly steals the show. Throwing powder can completely drain Family members’ blood vials, consume their stamina, or heal fellow Victims, depending on how you decide to level it up. Her ability even effects Leatherface, making her the only Victim besides Leland who can take him on head-to-head if need be. Not to mention, she’s the only Victim with Unique perks.
- Coagulant: Powder cloud drains 50% of blood being carried by Family members who enter it (could be a good alternative if not using Reduce Family Blood Vial in the Skill Tree).
- Bloodar: Tainted blood buckets also highlight any Family member who comes within a 9 meter range at Level 3.
If Unique perks aren’t your thing, Virginia also has some great options like Fast Hands to crack open exit doors faster. You could also equip Medicinal Benefits to improve healing and play into her nursing backstory.
B-Tier Victims
Julie Crawford
Some consider Julie superior to Connie due to her Ultimate Escape ability, which makes her invisible to Cook and Johnny. She also consumes a lot less stamina while running than any other Victim. Endurance and Stealth are Julie’s strengths, and as the runner of the group, it only makes sense to favor Endurance perks like:
- Slippery: You get a speed boost after navigating through gaps or crawl spaces.
- Fight or Flight: After surviving a close encounter, movement speed is increased, and stamina consumption is reduced for 15 seconds at Level 3.
Both perks work similarly by giving you a speed boost, which can be instrumental in escaping Family members. However, Julie has one of the lowest Strength stats in the game, so be mindful of that if choosing Fight or Flight.
Sonny Williams
Sonny is the real underdog among the Victims, but he’s got the really strong Heightened Senses ability, which allows him to detect the locations of nearby Killers. His only drawback is overall frailty. With the lowest HP in the game, you might want to favor toughness-based perks to even him out. Some recommendations include:
- Stunt Duble: Receive up to 70% less damage jumping out windows or climbing down wells at Level 3.
- Bounce Back Better: At Level 3, healing items used on you are 40% more effective.
Stunt Double can put Sonny on par with Ana. However, if a Proficiency-heavy character is more your jam, Sonny’s got some great perks for that. Just be sure to play more stealthily.
