One of the best aspects of character customization in V Rising is that you can freely respec spells and switch out jewels. Doing so is very simple, and it becomes quite important as you find or craft better jewels. Here’s how to switch out spell jewels in V Rising.
How to Change Spell Jewels in V Rising
You can switch out spell jewels for free in V Rising by following these steps:
- Once you’re out of combat, open your Spellbook (J by default on PC).
- Navigate to the school of magic and the specific spell that you want to change the jewel for.
- Click on that spell.
- In the lower right, you’ll see a jewel menu with all your available jewels currently in your inventory.
- Simply drag and drop the one you want in place of the one already equipped.
That’s pretty much it. Now you can enjoy the benefits of the new jewel. I quite like that this process is fast, and unlike in ARPGs like Diablo, the spell jewels aren’t destroyed. This means you can switch them out as many times as you like with no penalty. Just note that you have to actually have the jewel in your inventory, so pick them up from your castle chest.
How to Find and Craft Better Spell Jewels in V Rising
You’ll start with Tier 1 jewels with lesser benefits and then start finding triangle-shaped Tier 2 ones in the Dunley Farmlands. Furthermore, you’ll find diamond-shaped Tier 3 jewels in Gloomrot, the Cursed Forest, and the Ruins of Mortum. Keep an eye out for jewels and their Tiers so you can switch them out when you get better ones.
You can even craft higher-tier ones yourself with the Jewelcrafting Table, which you get by defeating Raziel the Shepherd in the Dunley Monastery. The main reason he’s a tricky boss is that the entire monastery is under divine protection, meaning you’ll take constant damage as long as you’re within monastery grounds. To make the fight drastically easier, make and consume the holy resistance potion to virtually negate the damage you take and then skip all the mobs and rush to Raziel, who’s inside the main monastery chapel. Raziel by himself isn’t that tough, and I beat him easily with my Necromancer build.
Once you beat him, you can craft the Jewelcrafting Table and make any jewels you want using Gemdust. This resource is made by grinding down any gemstones in the Grinder.
