Killer Klowns from Outer Space was always known as the strangest cult classic that ’80s horror had to offer. But Illfonic’s new game Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game lets you feel the horror firsthand as you try and find a way to put the Klowns down for good, which isn’t as easy as it sounds.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: Tips for Killing Klowns
In the movie, the only way that the Klowns could be killed was by shooting or stabbing their big red noses. Not only is this also used in the game, but there are also other methods to ensure you can nail a killing blow. The reason why killing them is so important, aside from the obvious, is that it takes that player out of commission for 45 seconds, offering enough time to strategize and escape. That said, taking out their noses is the best bet and also one of the most difficult aspects of playing as a Human.
When it comes to killing these intergalactic Klowns, you want to have two items on you: a firearm or a sharp object. That’s because when you get the chance to hit them on the nose, these are the only two items that can do it.
Firearms are the most reliable but also require expert aim. The Klowns may be slow, but they are quite crafty, and when trying to dodge a cotton candy ray, it’s hard to get a bullseye. As a result, your best bet is to stun them and then deliver the final blow.
How to Stun Klowns
If you’re lucky enough to find a shotgun, it allows you to stun a Klown without having to get too close. Otherwise, you will have to rely on Killer Klowns’s many melee weapons to take out the enemies. Essentially, the battle will be about overpowering the opponent, and once you do, the Klowns will spin and tumble, signifying that you successfully stunned them.
While the ideal method for killing a Klown is with a gun or sharp object, as mentioned above, you could also bash their nose repeatedly with blunt objects, such as a pan or a pipe. It may take a bit longer, but eventually, the Klowns will enter their movie-accurate death sequence, spinning in a green whirlwind before exploding. With this in mind, it helps make Klown hunting a bit easier as you can rest assured that even if you don’t have a gun or knife, you still have a chance to finish them.
The other foolproof way to stun a Klown is to coordinate attacks with your team. Should you have your Athletic or Heroic characters go resource hunting, the Tough characters can use their strength to overwhelm and defeat the Klowns. Coupled with the weapons that have been mentioned, it’s a great way to draw attention away from the players looking for key items. Plus, it’s a risky strategy that could pay off if the Klowns don’t expect it.
Best Human Archetype for Killing Klowns
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game has many archetypes for Humans and Klowns that you can choose from. Ideally, you may find the Punk or Resourceful Archetype the best to move around the map in terms of hunting resources. However, this is different for everyone as Athletic also comes with Speed and Stamina. That said, Athletic, Heroic, and Tough Archetypes are perfect for Klown killing, especially the first two, as Tough isn’t unlocked until Level 42.
These archetypes come with a lot of Strength and some more Health than others. When working in unison and strategizing how to take out a Klown, they are the perfect team. Whether the Tough Humans stun them while the Punk stabs or the Heroic Human shoots is up to you, but clearly, one can’t survive without the other. It’s hard to get a kill as a Human in Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, but you can bet that with a Tough, Heroic, or Athletic Archetype on your team, you can change the tide. Then, all you have to do is hope the rest of your team helped set up a fast and efficient escape.
